An exceptionally warm April night in Prescott

On Sunday, April 17, 2011 a full moon was shining down on our little town of Prescott, Arizona and a warm glow was radiating from an old building on Cortez street, home to the Raven Cafe. From out in the street you could feel the warmth coming from the old walls into the cool, spring evening air, and upon cracking open the front door an uproar of beautiful music and laughter burst out onto the sidewalk. Inside, people from all over our community as well as family and friends who traveled from afar were there to celebrate in honor of our dear friend, Ganai Silver Wolfe. She has been a prominent figure whom we could always count on seeing around town, offering a friendly smile and a show of support for her community. She is living with cancer now, and it was time for us all to return some of the kindness she has taught us. It was a powerful night, indeed.

We love you, Ganai.

Overland Expo 2011

Last Updated on Thursday, 14 April 2011 10:01 Written by Chris Marzonie Thursday, 14 April 2011 10:01

Once again, I was invited by Conserventures to photograph the annual Overland Expo, an event that is all about exploring and discovering our world. People from all over come together to share and learn about overlanding, a form of adventure-travel using wheeled transport to get out and experience places and meet people. There is an exhibitor area, feature-vehicles, countless classes and workshops, a film festival, camping and socializing, and numerous presentations. If you would like to do a story on the event and need photos and/or editorial, please contact Chris.

Looking back – the first Overland Expo

Last Updated on Monday, 21 February 2011 02:07 Written by Chris Marzonie Monday, 21 February 2011 02:05

As we’re all getting ready for the upcoming Overland Expo, I thought I’d post some images from the first year when it was held in Prescott, Arizona in the spring of 2009. The Overland Expo is an event that draws instructors and attendees from all over the world. It’s meant to inspire us all to get off our butts and get out there and experience the world we live in, by bike or auto. Tons of classes, demos, presentations, film festival, and more. I highly recommend it. www.overlandexpo.com
